Trillian is a popular instant messaging application which can connect to most of the popular online IM services, enable chat over a number of networks.
The program is capable of logging users in to ICQ, MSN Messenger, AIM, Yahoo! Messenger and even IRC networks. It provides all of the common functionality over these networks including, when applicable, access to file transfers, emoticons, video chat and contacts.
When adding various accounts to your Trillian installation, it will import your contacts either automatically or manually. After installing, you are provided with a useful wizard which will help unite all of your instant messaging accounts from the networks Trillian supports.
One cool feature of Trillian which differentiates it from some of the other instant messaging programs is its ability to be themed/skinned. Virtually endless opportunities are available on the web for dressing it up as you wish.
Trillian supports video conferencing with Apple's Quicktime codecs, can send SMS messages over the web and more.
Overall, Trillian is probably one of the most comprehensive chat clients with support for most of the common networks. The freeware version provides you with most of the more common features while upgrading to a "Pro" version removes any advertisements and can integrate your account into the cloud.

What version of Windows can Trillian run on?
Trillian can be used on a computer running Windows 11 or Windows 10. Previous versions of the OS shouldn't be a problem with Windows 8 and Windows 7 having been tested. It runs on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems with no dedicated 64-bit download provided.
Other operating systems: The latest Trillian version from 2024 is also available for Mac.
